Why Nutrition matters so much during breastfeeding:

Why I Created Mammas Milk Bar (My Story)
I struggled with low milk supply as a new mum.
I desperately wanted something:

… but nothing existed.
So, I made my own. During COVID, I shared my own blend with other mums in our ICU unit and they found that the blends also helped them. With the intention to help women, while holding down a full time job at the time, I decided to dive right into creating something for the community. Through research and trail and error and feedback from midwives and doctors, our brand was born.
That’s how Mammas Milk Bar was born — made in New Zealand, created by a mum who gets it.

How to Take Mammas Milk Bar Blends
Every mum is different, but here’s what we generally recommend:
📌 Serving size:
1 heaped tablespoon
📌 How often:
2–3 times per day if you’re actively supporting supply
📌 Friendly reminder:
Some mums go up to 3 tablespoons — it’s totally fine to adjust to taste and preferences.
📌 IMPORTANT:
Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Hydration plays a huge role in milk production.
Combine with power pumping, an easy trick taught by our midwives in our team is to try using a silicone pump and massaging the breast to stimulate a let down.
Removal of milk encourages production of supply. Milk removed = Milk Made
How to use the Blend? Here are some ways to Use the Blends (Quick + Easy)
🥛 Milkshakes
1 serving + 1 cup of your favourite milk → shake or blend
1 serving and 1 cup of your favorite milk and Shake shake shake! Alternatively, you can blitz it in a blender as well. For me, when Im busy, Il add in a dollop of yogurt or to be extra, some ice cream. There is some settlement at the bottom but that is seriously good stuff, so just give it a swirl around.
☕ Lattes
This is a tip my fellow mammas gave me about the blends which is so neat. 1 serving with warm/hot milk, or your morning coffee/tea in a shaker or keep cup (lid on) and shake, shake, shake! Alternatively if you have a nespresso milk foarmer/steamer/aerochino, just add your milk, and a serving and away you go. You can see one of our mammas prepare one here

🥤 Smoothies
Blend 1 serving with milk, water, fruit, or anything you love.
🍨 Hot Blendy Bowl
Heat 1 cup of warm milk on the stove and 1 serving and keep stirring until it gets thick. It gets thick really fast so keep a eye out! Serve with your favourite toppings.
Top with fruit, nuts, seeds, granola, chocolate… anything!
Please note that our blends are made with LOW sugar because we want every mamma to be able to enjoy them. Some mammas might have conditions where low sugar is required and sweet treats are not possible. So do add your own to suit.

Will taking Mamma's Milk Bar Lactation Blends guarantee my supply to boost?
We can’t make guarantees — every mum’s body is unique.
But many mums do report feeling more nourished and noticing a lift in supply when they combine the blends with milk-making habits.
We use selected galactagogue ingredients traditionally used to support breastfeeding.
To give your body the best chance, we recommend the routine below.
How long will it take to see results?
Most women see results within 3-4 days, some sooner, some later, and for a few, maybe not at all, we need to stress that every mamma is different, and things like drinking lots of water, power pumping helps to stimulate milk production.
My TOP Tips to Help Support Milk Supply Fast
Here’s what I share with every mama who messages me:
1. Take the blends up to 3 times a day
Especially for the first 3 days if you’re trying to increase supply.
2. Drink LOTS of water
Your body needs fluid to make fluid — makes sense, right?
3. Power pump every 3–4 hours
For the first 3 days, try:

This mimics cluster feeding and signals your body to increase output.
4. Use a Haakaa silicone pump
Every 3–4 hours, attach it and gently massage your breast to stimulate a let-down.
Every let-down = a signal to your brain to make more milk.
Most mums see changes in 3–4 days, some faster, some slower.
5. Keep stimulation consistent
Latch baby often if possible, or pump regularly.
Supply is all about demand → signal → response.
